Dare to Believe

Dare to Believe

Would you dare to believe? Would you go outside your comfort zone and accept the precious gift of love and forgiveness that God offers us?

Sometimes believing can be hard; it may seem like life has gotten in the way, that there is no way God could love us after what we have done.  This, my friends, could not be farther from the truth.  Today I am daring you to think bigger than yourselves.  It is a human thing to hang on to the past, to hold grudges, to say we forgive, but never truly forget, and usually the person we are the hardest on is the one staring back at us when we look in the mirror.  It is also a human thing to limit what God can do; we try to put human limits on the God who created this universe we are living in, when in reality is so far beyond any limits.  Maybe it is time we dare to believe in a bigger God, the One that can finally allow us to forgive ourselves, the One that can truly set us free; free from our sins, free from our pasts, and free from our narrow-minded selves.

There is a song by Josh Wilson entitled Before the Morning that speaks of these truths.  It goes like this:

Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you
If there’s a God who loves you where is He now
Maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Someday somehow you’ll see you’ll see
Would you dare would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming
So hold on you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning
My friend you know how this all ends
You know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer
And hold on cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture
Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory
It’s just the hurt before the healing
Oh the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

Daily Verse:

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. ~ Psalm 30:5

With that, I ask you to dare to believe in a limitless God; one who can reach beyond the depths of our imagination and surpass anything we have ever dreamed of.  Dare to believe that even though we mess up, there is nothing we could ever do to separate us from the love and forgiveness of Christ. Dare to believe that your sorrow, your pain is only temporary, and that with the morning comes a new day, a new life, a fresh start; a fresh start that Christ is just waiting for us to accept.  Dare to believe that once you have confessed your sins you only need to forgive yourself because He has already forgiven you.  Dare to believe that He has cast your sins as far as the East is from West.  Dare to believe that He loves you with a love that you have never known before.  Dare to believe, dare to have faith, dare to hope, because I can guarantee the joy that He will bring us will far outweigh any despair we have experienced.

Remember that with this life comes hardship and trouble, but dare to believe that joy will come with the morning.  He is an awesome God who knows no bounds; let us remove the limits we place on Him and experience the true joy of His love, forgiveness, and freedom.  Dare to believe.
