Recommitment

Today, December 1st, 2010, I am recommitting; recommitting to the promises I have made to myself over and over again.  Recommitting to God's plans for my life and letting go of my own, to the healthy diet and lifestyle the Lord has lead me to over the past year, and to finally ridding myself of habitual sins I no longer need in my life.  I am recommitting to starting anew, something that can only be achieved through Christ (I thank God for that gift and opportunity).  Relying on my faith and trust in God above to keep me steadfast in these vows.  It is not so much that I have faltered or wavered from the path I know He wants me on (though I have, we all do), but rather it is owning up to my daily mistakes and moving forward.  I do not want to dwell on things of old, but rather learn from them and commit to myself and to God that I will change them.  I was about to write work on changing them, but I am sick of telling myself I will try to do something, and never get around to it. I will change them and He will help me do it.  I guess, in a way, this blog will be my accountability in these recommitments.  My goal in all of this is to keep people updated, and to keep myself committed, accountable, and dependent on God for my needs.

Verse for today:

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
~Hebrews 11:1

Let God work in you, through you, and for you; His plans are greater than anything we could fathom for ourselves.

On a side note, this past weekend my family celebrated Jordan and Bethany's Wedding as well as Thanksgiving.  Both were reminders of how blessed and grateful I am to God.  Time with family and friends filled with faith and love was exactly what I needed.  Seeing Jordan and Beth's love and commitment has inspired me to recommit to the things I find important and necessary to live the life God has planned for me.

Here are a few pictures from the wedding day...
