Too Comfortable

Too Comfortable...

Are you satisfied with the way things are going? Are you comfortable with where you are at in life? Perhaps too comfortable?

I find that when it seems everything is going great with our lives, we find it pretty easy to sit back and be satisfied with it.  I am not saying that one should not take note of all the good in our lives and enjoy it, but I am saying that we should never just be satisfied, never get too comfortable.  God has made us for so much more than that.  He has blessed us with joy, satisfaction, and comfort so that we might strive and yearn for more of Him; that we might long to tell others of what we have found in Christ.  When life appears to be free of troubles, that is when we can dive even deeper into who Christ is; of course He is always the one to turn to in the bad and troublesome times, but we must not forget to dig deeper in our relationships with Him on a day to day basis.

He is the Great Provider, He longs to satisfy us, but my challenge is that we do not just sit on what God has blessed us with, that we do not just keep the good news to ourselves.  We must be at the ready because life can turn around at any moment; we do not know what tomorrow holds, but we do know Who holds tomorrow.  Too quickly, it may seem, another trouble or trial will come our way and what benefit will we have gained if we got too comfortable in the good times, and forgot to strive to learn, live for, and love our Savior?

He has great plans for us, plans that will end with the ultimate comfort and satisfaction of living an eternal life of salvation and redemption with our Creator, but He is not finished with us yet.  We are still here for a purpose, to fulfill His plan, to spread His kingdom, and to show others the love of Christ.  Do not get so comfortable living in your own world that you lose sight of the bigger purpose.  Find your satisfaction and comfort in Christ, but use it for the furthering of your relationship with him, and to stimulate others relationships with Him.  One can never know enough of the love and redemption of the Savior; get to know Him, love Him, strive for Him, yearn for Him, and live for Him.  You will not be disappointed.

Daily Verse:

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” ~ Psalm 91: 14-16

Remember to enjoy the comforts of life without getting too comfortable.  He has good and perfect plans for your life; go after them, search for them, long to achieve them.  Know that life could change at any moment, be prepared and up for the challenge.  He's not finished with you yet!

Side note (but still of utmost importance): Happy 21st Birthday to Kevin KP Sean Peters. I love that guy like Mel Putz loves Bit'o Honey, and thats a lot.
